This exciting event at Elver Park in Madison, Wisconsin will again be run primarily on wooded ski trail with a few sections of single track trail. The trail features numerous climbs and the 9K and 14.5K feature some technical sections.

All proceeds from the event will go towards the Adopt an Athlete Program, started by the Central Cross Country Ski Association (a 501(c)3 not for profit corporation) to support opportunities for talented athletes to pursue athletic excellence in the Winter Olympic Games.

This year of Run for Snow will raise funds to adopt Matt Liebsch, CXC Team Vertical Limit member, 2009 U.S. National Championships Bronze medalist and winner of the 2009 American Birkebeiner 52K Skate race. Matt, father of two future skiers, will run with the kids in the Snowball Kids Trail Run and participate in one of the trail run events.

rules and regulations

The following rules and regulations must be followed by all participants:

-obey race officials; yield to emergency personnel and vehicles;
-running strollers/wagons allowed in the WALK ONLY
-no bicycles, pets, or mp3 and CD players
-no race category changes will be made after August 15th, 2010
-5.5K, 9K, 14.5K Trail Run has delayed start time; 5K Walk/Nordic Walk is a non-timed event
-participation in an incorrect race portion will result in an unrecorded time
